Sign On Days & Swim Proficiency
Membership is limited to children aged 7 to 13 (Under 8-14), although we also run a program for nippers, aged 5 and 6 (Under 6 and 7). The age group is determined as of midnight on the 30th September at the commencement of each season. Therefore if your child is 8 on the 30th Sept 2008, they will be in the U9 age group. If they are 11, they will be in the U12s.
Prior to joining the surf club, it is compulsory that all children (U8 – U14) be tested at the start of each season before they enter or participate in any Surf Life Saving Australia Junior Activity Program.
You can join your child at our Nipper Sign On Days / Proficiency Swims held at Southport Olympic Pool from 8.30 - 10.00am on the following dates. All nippers (excluding U6 & U7) are required to do their swims before signing up.

U11-13 yrs Nipper Board Levy
A $50 board levy has been introduced for the U11- U13 age groups. This levy is for nippers who do not own a board and gives members use of a club owned nipper board during the season at scheduled training sessions and carnivals. Nipper boards may vary during the season and each user is accountable for any repairs due to irresponsible use. This levy will enable us to purchase more craft, repair accidental dings and also encourage nippers to look after the boards.
